THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala is likely to get one of the Vande Bharat Metro trains allotted to Southern Railway, according to recent reports. Railway officials say that the Thiruvananthapuram - Kochi route is being considered for running the first Vande Metro in the state. This route is one of the busiest railway routes in the state, connecting two major cities.
The proposed Vande Bharat train between Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi may take the Kottayam route due to the challenging travel conditions between Kottayam and Ernakulam. On Monday, two women were injured in a stampede on the Venad Express due to overcrowding.
