Kerala preparing for Onam: State-level Onam week celebrations starting from September 3

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala will hold state-level Onam week celebrations from September 3. It will conclude in Thiruvananthapuram with a procession on the 9th. Onam celebrations will be held at the district level under the leadership of DTPC. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Kowdiar to Manacaud in Thiruvananthapuram will be declared a festival zone. Electric illumination will be done in a grand way. The programs will be held as 'Haritha Onam' by following the green protocol. Onam fairs will be organised at the district CDS and ADS levels by Kudumbashree.

Onam kits will be made available directly and online. Supplyco Onam markets will be started at the district, taluk and constituency levels. Daily necessities will be sold at low prices through ConsumerFed and primary cooperatives. HortiCorp's vegetable markets will also be activated.
