Kerala's weather will change from Monday; people in these four districts should be especially careful

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department has announced that there is a possibility of rain in Kerala for the next five days. A yellow alert has been issued in various districts. Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki districts are on yellow alert today. There is a possibility of isolated heavy rain. Heavy rain is defined as a situation where rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is received in 24 hours.

Fishermen cautioned

IMD has informed that fishing should not be allowed off the Kerala - Lakshadweep coasts today and tomorrow (05/10/2025 & 06/10/2025), and there is no obstacle to fishing off the Karnataka coast.

05/10/2025 & 06/10/2025: Strong winds gusting to 40 to 50 kmph and at times up to 60 kmph are likely along the Kerala - Lakshadweep coasts today and tomorrow (05/10/2025 & 06/10/2025).

Special Warning

• From 05/10/2025 to 07/10/2025: Very strong winds speed reaching 45 to 80 kmph and at times 90 kmph and severe weather likely over west central Arabian Sea and northwest Arabian Sea.

• 05/10/2025: Very strong winds speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph and at times 60 kmph and severe weather likely over Somalia, Oman coasts and adjoining west central and northwest sea areas, north Gujarat, West Bengal, north Odisha coast and Kanyakumari region.

• Very strong winds speed reaching 90 to 110 kmph and at times 120 kmph likely over northeast and west central Arabian Sea and adjoining areas.

• 06/10/2025: Strong winds and bad weather are likely to occur along and off the coasts of Somalia, Oman, adjoining central and western sea areas and Kanyakumari region with speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph, gusting to 60 kmph at times.
