Kitchen collapses due to heavy rain; narrow escape for housewife in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: The kitchen of a house collapsed due to heavy rain at Cherumundasseri, Ambalappara, Ottapalam. The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. today at the house of Mallanchola Chandran Nair.

Only Chandran Nair’s wife Janaki was at home at the time of the accident. Although she was in the kitchen when the wall collapsed, she escaped without injuries. The wall fell onto a plastic water storage container and partly onto kitchen utensils. According to the family, the accident caused damage worth Rs 10,000.
