KSRTC accident takes life of Mottaparambil family member; Bus hits Smitha Sara Varghese when she was asking for directions

KOTTAYAM: Tragic death for a woman after a KSRTC bus and a bike collided. The accident occurred near Ambika Market Junction on the Vechoor - Thanneermukkom road at around 2 pm on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Smitha Sara Varghese (44). She is the daughter of PA Varghese, a native of Mallappally, Anicadu, Pathanamthitta. Smitha Varghese was coming to Vechoor from Thanneermukkom.

Smitha had stopped her two-wheeler on the roadside to ask for directions and was talking to a man standing there. At this time, a bus coming from behind knocked her down. The accident occurred when the bus moved forward after picking up a passenger from the bus stop.

The injured Smita was immediately taken to the Edayazham Family Health Centre by the locals, but her life could not be saved. The body was shifted to the Vaikom Taluk Hospital morgue. Vaikom Police took further action. Mother: Podiamma Samuel. Husband: Dayas Mathew. She is a member of the Piravom Mottaparambil Family. Daughter: Julie Sarah Dayas Mathew. Brother: Sumit Abraham (USA).
