KSRTC's Kerala Piravi gift: Volvo 9600 SLX buses to soon hit Kerala roads

KSRTC's brand new Volvo 9600 SLX buses will soon hit the roads of Kerala, said Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar. The minister shared the news on Facebook with photos of the bus. The minister titled the caption as 'KSRTC’s Kerala Piravi gift to the people of the state'.

The 9600SLX is Volvo's multi-axle sleeper model. Like the Volvo 9600 buses that arrived at KSRTC earlier, the 9600SLX has been decorated in the same colour theme as the Indian tricolour flag. However, the minister did not share information about the facilities inside the bus or the route chosen.

The 15-meter models of Volvo 9600 had arrived for KSRTC in August. The seater model of this bus has a height of 3800 mm, and the sleeper model has a height of 4000 mm. The bus is built on a width of 2600 mm and a wheelbase of 8340 mm. The 15-meter-long bus has a capacity of 55 people. The seating is in a 2+2 layout.
