Land acquisition only after giving compensation and providing rehabilitation, says K-Rail MD on SilverLine project

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K-Rail MD V Ajithkumar said that the land for the Silver Line project will be acquired only after the full payment of compensation as per the central law and after ensuring the rehabilitation.

The project has not been frozen. After the social impact study on places where survey stones were laid, study using geo-tagging will start. The project will be completed within five years if land acquistion can be done in two years, said the MD during 'Janasmaksham SiverLine' a live program.

SilverLine project will become profitable in the third year. The loan will be repaid in 20 years with interest. Interest-free loans given by the Central and State Governments for land acquisition can then be repaid. Will buy solar power at a lower cost for the project. Trains using latest technology will be bought, with low fuel consumption, high speed and safety. Trains will have 360 ​​degree rotating seats and Wi-Fi. 27 sets of trains are required. The average speed of trains will be 135 km per hour, continued the MD.
