THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chennai businessman Sharshad said that he will respond to the legal notice of party state secretary M V Govindan over the leaked letter controversy in the CPM. Sharshad responded on social media that if the party is with one who ruined my family, then will have to bid goodbye to the party. In the controversy related to the leak of Sharshad's complaint to party politburo, Govindan sent a legal notice to him through Kochi-based lawyer M Rajagopalan Nair.

Comrade Govindan Master’s legal notice was received through a media friend. My lawyer will give a detailed reply. Later in court. If the party is with the person who ruined my family, then will have to bid goodbye to that party. The son of any party secretary is not bigger than the family. From now on, there will be live and breaking from Chennai.

Meantime, the notice mentioned that the allegations levelled against Govindan must be withdrawn within three days of receiving the notice or legal action will be taken. Sharshad's action has affected the image and political credibility of Govindan. The notice pointed that the allegation has been made in the form of leaking a confidential document through his son, which is baseless and malicious.

‘The print and visual media have quoted you as saying that the complaint filed with the politburo months ago was leaked through the son of M V Govindan. You have alleged that the complaint was leaked through the son of M V Govindan because he is related to Rajesh Krishna, a non-resident businessman who has filed a defamation case of Rs 10 crore against you in the Delhi High Court. However, since the day your complaint was sent to the politburo, it has been available on social media. ‘You have written a letter to the CPM on May 17, 2024 expressing regret for the allegations against Govindan. You have been repeating such things since then. Govindan has been a person with a high profile in the CPM for five decades. Since Sharshad's allegations have the potential to tarnish it, the allegations should be withdrawn from social media and an apology should be published on the respective platforms,’ demanded the notice.
