KOCHI: In a significant legal development, the Kerala High Court Division Bench has granted relief to Vellappally Natesan by staying a single bench order that had previously disqualified him from the post of General Secretary of SNDP Yogam. This ruling, delivered by a bench consisting of Chief Justice Souman Sen and Justice V. M. Shyamkumar, also extends to Yogam President Dr. M. N. Soman, Vice President Thushar Vellappally, and Devaswom Secretary Arayakandy Santhosh.
The court has issued notices to the opposing parties, and the appeals are slated for final arguments in June. The initial disqualification was based on the governing body's failure to submit annual returns as mandated by the Companies Act. Specifically, the Act stipulates that any director who fails to file financial statements or annual returns for three consecutive years is barred from reappointment for a period of five years.
