THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary MV Govindan has taken legal action in the letter leak controversy. A legal notice has been sent against businessman Mohammed Shershad. The notice demands that the allegations be withdrawn within three days. The legal notice states that the allegations should be corrected through the media and all defamatory allegations should be removed from various social media platforms immediately.
The leak of Shershad's complaint letter to the Politburo in 2021 has recently sparked a political controversy. Businessman Mohammed Shershad's complaint alleges that it was MV Govindan's son Shyamjit, who was behind the leak of the complaint about Rajesh Krishna's hawala transactions with party leaders, to the Politburo. Rajesh had filed a private complaint in the Delhi High Court alleging that he was removed from his position as a representative based on a false complaint. MV Govindan had responded yesterday that the controversy was absurd and that he does not wish to respond to such absurdities.
Meanwhile, indications are emerging that CPM Central Committee member EP Jayarajan contacted Sharshad, who had filed a complaint with PB, on the phone yesterday. It is clear that the new controversy is part of the infighting within the CPM, especially in Kannur. Sharshad also alleged that Shyamjith, who was the main organizer of the Happy Fest held in Govindan's constituency, committed financial fraud.
It is also noteworthy that Sharshad's ex-wife Ratheena, who had alleged in her complaint that she was cheated by Rajesh Krishna, posted a Facebook post against Sharshad yesterday. She wrote that "this post is also because there have been many stories about my role in the ongoing letter drama 'Chennai Business Man', which is being discussed in the media, and because all the news I am seeing is related to the family feud and personal enmity between me and this businessman".
