Live electric line snaps and falls in front of house; housewife meets with tragic death

KOZHIKODE: Another case of electrocution death has been reported in the state. The deceased has been identified as Usha (53), a housewife from Asharikandi, Thodannur. The fatal incident occurred when a live electric line snapped and fell into the courtyard of her house, leading to her death on the spot.

Usha was cleaning the yard when she came into contact with the live wire, which had fallen along with a tree branch. She was rushed to the Vadakara District Hospital, but her life could not be saved. A tree from the neighbouring property had fallen on the power line, causing it to snap and drop into the yard. The body has been shifted to the mortuary at Vadakara District Hospital.
