'Long-distance buses won't halt at requested stops at night', informs KSRTC Managing Director

ksrtc-

PALAKKAD: KSRTC informs that buses going long distance cannot stop at places requested by passengers at night. KSRTC Managing Director informed the Human Rights Commission that although the circular suggests stopping the bus at places requested by women, senior citizens and differently-abled persons from 8 pm to 5 am, it is practically difficult to implement this proposal in long-distance multi-axle AC Super Deluxe and Super Express buses.

KSRTC has informed the commission that this is inconvenient for long-distance commuters and many complaints have been raised and henceforth such services will not stop except at specified places. This is related to the report requested by Commission Acting Chairperson and Judicial Member K Baijunath in the complaint submitted that buses do not stop at Pathinalamkallu on the Palakkad-Walayar route.

At the same time, the commission also asked to examine the possibility of introducing ordinary bus services on the Walayar-Palakad route during the night. The Commission has given instructions to KSRTC Palakkad District Transport Officer. The action is taken in case of not enough number of night bus services on the same route.
