
KOZHIKODE: A major fire broke out at the Baby Memorial Hospital in Kozhikode. The fire broke out at the AC plant room. The fire spread to the area where there were no patients. Smoke is bellowing from the building. Police and fire force have reached the area. The fire was brought under control after bringing the patients out. The cause of the fire is not known.
The fire was at the AC plant on the ninth floor of the new block. Though the fire broke out at the AC plant, there were patients on the floors below it. The authorities of the hospital informed that steps have been taken to shift the patients who had undergone surgeries. As the smoke reached the lower floors, it affected the functioning of the hospital. Although the fire initially caused concern, it was quickly brought under control with proper intervention. As the fire was prevented from spreading to other parts, there was no further damages.
