Major Ravi to be NDA candidate from Ottapalam; Official announcement soon

PALAKKAD: Popular film director and actor Major Ravi will be the NDA candidate in the Ottapalam assembly constituency. Major Ravi recently visited various places in the constituency and also the BJP West District Committee office in Ottapalam. District President P Venugopalan received him by donning a shawl. Major Ravi had shared the visuals of his visit to the Vayillyamkunnu Bhagavathi Temple located in Kadampazhipuram panchayat in Palakkad on social media.

Ottapalam is among the A+ constituencies eyed by BJP in the upcoming polls. If for a serious contest, BJP leadership believe a victory is not a far-fetched dream here. In the last two assembly elections, the NDA had won more than 25,000 votes. P Venugopal was the candidate in the last three elections. Meanwhile, the district president clarified that no decision has been made on the candidate selection, and an official announcement would be made soon. Apart from Major Ravi, former Palakkad district president KM Haridas and Central Region General Secretary T Sankarankutty are also on the list of possible candidates.
