ALAPPUZHA: A man was found dead in a search to inform him about the death of his elder brother. The dead are C R Madhu (51) and his younger brother C R Santhosh (45) of Chathanamkuzhi, Nedumkavuvayal in Erumeli. The two will be laid to rest together later.

Madhu died on Saturday in Andhra Pradesh. When relatives could not contact Santhosh to inform about his elder brother’s death, they sought help on social media. They started an investigation by posting Santhosh's picture and phone number. Meanwhile, a person was found dead in front of a shop at the bus stand in Kayamkulam yesterday morning. When he resembled Santhosh, the Kayamkulam police informed the relatives. The relatives then confirmed that the dead was Santhosh.

Madhu, who was a teacher in Andhra Pradesh, died of some illness. Santhosh, a painter, had left home a few weeks ago for work in Changanassery. The cause of Santhosh's death is not clear. Madhu leaves behind his wife Mani and son Akash (student). Santhosh leaves behind his wife Beena and children Adarsh and Adri (both students).
