Man throws acid at daughter to settle scores with wife; Shocking incident in Kasaragod

KASARAGOD: A man threw acid on his daughter to vent his anger at his wife. The 17-year-old girl was seriously injured in the shocking incident that took place in Panathady, Kasaragod, the other day. A 10-year-old girl, daughter of the accused’s brother, also suffered burns in the incident. Both are now undergoing treatment at the hospital after suffering serious burns. The perpetrator, Manoj, a native of Anappara, Karike, Karnataka, is at large. A search is ongoing for him.

Manoj is a drunkard and a troublemaker. He was living estranged from his wife and children for so long. Upon receiving information that his wife and children had reached his brother’s home, Manoj arrived at the spot and carried out the heinous crime. Manoj poured acid, which is used to make rubber sheets, on the children. The 17-year-old girl suffered burns on her hands and feet. The 10-year-old girl also suffered burns on her face.

In addition to the acid attack, Manoj has been charged with attempted murder and housebreaking. Police dismissed any motive other than family issues behind the attack.
