Minister Veena's neck injury; no serious problem in MRI scan, KSU activists remanded

KANNUR: Health Minister Veena George, who was admitted to Kannur Pariyaram Medical College, will be subjected to expert examination on Thursday. The MRI scan taken has shown no serious problems. The initial examination found that there was a minor neck injury. The medical board meeting will be held at 10 am today.

The minister was admitted to Pariyaram Medical College at around 10 pm last night. The minister, who was in the intensive care unit of the district hospital, was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital for further tests at night.

Meantime, five KSU activists who were arrested for trying to attack Minister Veena George have been remanded. A case of murder attempt has been registered against them. They were produced before the magistrate last night after the medical examination. KSU district president M C Athul, Ahmed Yaseen, C H Mubbas, V V Akshay and Bithul Balan have been remanded.
