Money lost from father’s account after death, son raises suspicion, body exhumed

KOZHIKODE: The police are for further investigation after a man expressed suspicion on his father's death at Thurayur in the district. The man identified as Mufeed Payyoli expressed suspicion on the death of his father Mohammed (58). He suspects it to be a murder. An inquest was also conducted.


The inspection was led by Kozhikode RDO, doctors from the Medical College Forensic Department, and Payyoli circle inspector A K Sajeesh, the investigating officer, at 10.30 am. Mohammed, who had been living alone for many years, was found dead on May 26. He was an expatriate.


When he was not seen outside the house, a woman, his neighbor looked through the window and saw him sitting motionless in a chair. The locals then came, broke opened the door and entered inside. The body was later shifted to Mohammed's younger brother's house and laid to rest in the evening.


His son Mufeed, who returned home, expressed suspicions on his father's death. Mufeed complained to the Payyoli police that the door of the house where Mohammed was found dead was not broken and that money was withdrawn from his father's account after his death. He also said the body was laid to rest in a hurry. The investigation is underway in this situation.
