PATHANAMTHITTA: The Devaswom Vigilance will check the account details of all the daily wage workers assigned to the Sannidhanam during the Sabarimala pilgrimage. The action is based on the suspicion that the daily workers assigned to the Sannidhanam during the last Sabarimala pilgrimage have sent large amounts of money home several times. The Devaswom Board sends money to the daily wage workers directly to their accounts after the pilgrimage season. The Devaswom Vigilance will investigate the source of the money if large amounts of money have reached the accounts before that.

During the Sabarimala pilgrimage season, a large number of temporary workers are hired on a daily wage basis after police verification. Sabarimala Vigilance has received information that daily wage workers have sent large amounts of money to their homes and friends through the post office operating here. The Devaswom Vigilance was informed by officials who became suspicious that the money brought by the workers was mixed with a large amount of Bhasma. In the meantime, the Devaswom Vigilance had seized illegally earned money from the hands of some temporary workers. The bank accounts of the temporary workers are being inspected based on all this.
