Monsoon to intensify, low pressure is likely to form on June 11

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The monsoon will intensify in the coming days as the strength of south-westerly winds increase. On the 11th, low pressure is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal. After that, heavy rains are expected in North Kerala.

Yellow alert has been declared on June 8 in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Kasaragod districts. Fishing is not allowed along the coasts of Kerala and Karnataka and in the Lakshadweep region due to strong winds of 40-50 kmph.
