THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian meteorological department has predicted rainfall in various districts on Sunday. In the next three hours, there is a high possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in the Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts. The rains will be accompanied by strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a chance for light rain in the districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Idukki today.

As part of the black sea phenomenon, high waves are very likely along the Kerala coast, south Tamil Nadu coast, north Tamil Nadu coast and coastal low-lying areas. Meanwhile, due to the high temperature, the Department of Women and Child Development has decided to suspend preschool activities in Anganwadis for a week. The decision comes in the wake of the heat wave in northern Kerala and the special advice of Minister Veena George in this regard.

Other activities of Anganwadis will continue as usual. Officials also informed that the supplementary nutrition to be given to the children during this period will be delivered to the homes.
