THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The test results of 10 people for Nipah disease turned negative on Wednesday, informed Health Minister Veena George. The test results of the deceased youth's close relatives, including the mother and the doctor who treated him, were negative.
With this, a total of 26 people have tested negative. Today, 11 new people have been added to the contact list. Five of them are in the high-risk category.
A review meeting was held under the leadership of Veena George and the situation was assessed. A total of 266 people are included in the contact list. 81 of them are health workers. 176 people are in the primary contact list and 90 people are in the secondary contact list. 133 people in the primary list are in the high-risk category. Two people have been admitted to Manjeri Medical College Hospital today with Nipah symptoms.
Six people are admitted to Manjeri Medical College Hospital and 21 to Perinthalmanna MES Medical College Hospital. Psychological support was given to 226 people undergoing treatment.
As part of the field survey, 1044 houses were surveyed today in Mampad, Thiruvali and Wandoor panchayats. A total of 7953 houses have been surveyed so far.
