Museum set up on top floor of ASI's house, childhood curiosity turns into a passion for antique

PATHANAMTHITTA: ASI Zubair Hameed at Thiruvalla station has no rest after work. He collects antiques for his 'Vanchibhoomi' museum at his home and travels several kilometres for that. The museum artifacts have been collected for 15 years and it is located at a specially arranged hall set up on top of his house in Adoor. Several people visits the museum. The museum was inaugurated on the same day of his housewarming ceremony.

There is a large collection of various artifacts from the royal period. The museum also has a 100-year-old valve radio, wooden sambarpati and rasapathi, old musical instruments, old clocks, coins, currencies and several objects.

A portion of his salary will be set aside for antique collection. His family also supports him.

"This is my childhood interest. Will expand the museum if I receive more artifacts.", says Hameed
