The father-in-law of late film actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navas became emotional while remembering him. He broke down in tears at the venue where 'Innu', a play written and directed by Navas, was staged. Navas's father-in-law, theatre activist Cochin Hassanaar, said that Navas was not just his son-in-law, but like his own son. He also said that Navas was a person who never spoke badly about anyone in his life.

Apart from family members, close friends of Navas were also present to watch the play. "When I see Navas's friends and colleagues, I feel love and happiness," Hassanaar said. He also talked about 'Prakambanam', the last film in which Navas acted.

Speaking about Navas, Cochin Hassanaar said, " I have two daughters. Rehna is the younger one. Both my sons-in-law were like my own sons. Both of them were good sons who came into my home. Navas was with me for 22 years. He was not just a son-in-law; he was my son. He was a person who did things sincerely. He never spoke badly about anyone. Navas... he left us with unbearable pain."

Hassanaar also said that Navas was working on a new play and had already written around 12 pages. “He told me the story and said we could do this play instead of the one we are currently performing. But he left us. My son’s last film, Prakambanam, is about to be released. Everyone should watch it. It should be watched in theatres,” he said.
