PATHANAMTHITTA: Adv Praveen Babu, brother of Kannur ADM Naveen Babu, said that the police are not informing the family about the progress of the investigation related to his death. "It is not clear where the investigation has reached and what is happening. We are getting to know about the progress of the investigation from the media only," he told 'Kerala Kaumudi'.
"The police, who came to record the statement on the morning of Naveen Babu's cremation, have not informed the family about the subsequent progress. The statement was recorded at a time when the family was under severe mental stress and pain. A detailed statement was not recorded in the mood of the day. The complaint was lodged against PP Divya and Prashanth. However, it is learnt that Prashanth has been questioned and released. Prasanth is also involved in the conspiracy. We don't know why a case has not been registered against him."
'What the collector said'
Praveen Babu said that such a tragic incident would not have happened had the collector intervened. "So far, there has been no relief to the family from the collector's side. The discrepancy in the statement was stated by the collector after planning it. Naveen Babu had no affinity for the collector. Naveen will not admit that he made a mistake with such a person. A decision has not yet been taken to lodge a complaint against this. A decision will be taken only after taking into account the legal aspect. The post-mortem and inquest proceedings were conducted under the leadership of the collector. Neither Naveen Babu's family nor his relatives had reached Kannur at that time."
"I saw the news that the investigating officers will arrive to record their statements. However, nobody came. None of the officials have contacted the family yet. No decision has been taken to file a complaint against the collector. It will be decided after thought.
