THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V Sivankutty upheld the news that Kerala has prepared draft laws based on the Central Labor Code. This was done as per the directions of the Centre. However, he said that no further action has been taken on these draft laws.
'Regional meetings of all labor secretaries in India were held. Our state also participated in the meeting. A strict directive was given in the meeting to prepare draft laws. Even if the laws are prepared, there are many procedures to implement them. The laws must be approved by the state government, the legislative committee and the public must be given the right to express their opinion. This was prepared as a draft and it is like that. Not even an inch has been moved,' said V Sivankutty.
Trade unions across the country are protesting against the Central Labor Code. Left movements are also involved in this. Meanwhile, the minister has revealed that Kerala has prepared draft laws. Many labor unions in the country say that the four labor codes brought by the central government are anti-labor. The organizations allege that the labor codes are pro-employer and anti-worker.
