Newly married couple dies after car collides with bike in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: A newly married couple on a bike died after a car losing control collided with their vehicle. The incident happened at Iqbal Road on Malappuram Puthanathani-Thirunavaya Road. The dead has been identified as Muhammed Siddique (30) of Valiya Peedyekkal in Iqbal Nagar at Chandanakavu and his wife Reesa Mansoor (26). The couple got married in January.

The accident happened Tuesday morning at 9 am. The two were going to their workplace. The bike going towards Puthanathani collided with the car coming from the opposite direction. Though the two were rushed to the hospital, their lives could not be saved.


Muhammed Siddique is the son of V P Ahmed Kutty, a retired headmaster of Cherural School, and retired teacher Suneera Banu. Reesa is a native of Eranad. Following the accident, Kalpakanchery police reached the spot and took further steps. The bodies have been shifted to Puthanathani Hospital. They will be handed over to the relatives after the formalities.
