THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case will not be taken against E P Jayarajan for pushing youth congress activists when they protested against the chief minister on the flight. The chief minister informed this in the assembly in writing. The youth congress had not mentioned it in the complaint given to the police or the court. The chief minister said EP stopped them from attacking me.
The chief minister said the youth congress activists levelled the allegation to reduce the seriousness of the crime they committed. A case was not registered against E P Jayarajan on the grounds that no complaint was filed by the youth congress workers.
When the youth congress activists attacked the chief minister, E P Jayarajan tried to stop them. Two people filed a complaint via e-mail against Jayarajan, showing it as an assault. A special investigation team is investigating the case of trying to attack the chief minister. The accused in the case have not made any allegation in the court or the police that EP Jayarajan beat them. The chief minister said that a separate case should not be registered and investigation conducted as it is clear that the complaint against EP Jayarajan was made to minimize the seriousness of the crime committed by the accused.
In the wake of the revelations of Swapna Suresh in the gold smuggling case, protests were staged against the chief minister all over the state. The two youth congress workers protested on the flight in which the chief minister was travelling. Youth Congress Kannur district secretary R K Naveen Kumar and Mattannur block president Farzeen Majeed protested on the IndiGo flight from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram demanding the resignation of the chief minister. It was alleged that E P Jayarajan had pushed the two.
