THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Kerala is witnessing developmental stagnation and corruption, and that political parties promoting minority communalism have destroyed the security of the people. "There is no action even in the Sabarimala gold looting, and it is time for a double-engine government to come to power in the state to overcome all this," he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kerala was to set the BJP's agenda for the upcoming assembly elections.
The Prime Minister returned after clearly stating his election politics without announcing any major development projects for Kerala. There were rumours that the Prime Minister would announce new projects including high-speed rail as an alternative to the Silver Line. However, the Prime Minister, who attacked both the fronts, called for a BJP government in the state to ensure the development of Kerala. BJP state president Rajiv Chandrasekhar and NDA convener Thushar Vellappally receiving the Prime Minister by handing over Ayyappa idols was also intentional. The Prime Minister welcomed T20 Party Chairman Sabu Jacob, who decided to join the NDA in Kerala, with a handshake.
"The Left and Right Fronts have ruled Kerala alternately and destroyed it. This is the right time to elect the NDA." The Prime Minister criticised the LDF, raising the Sabarimala gold loot and the cooperative bank fraud, and the UDF, referring to the Muslim League as a Maoist Congress.
"LDF and UDF have destroyed Kerala. From now on, a third party, the development party, is being formed. Kerala is not implementing central schemes. Due to PM Shri's non-implementation, students have lost the assistance they should have received. The upcoming elections will change the situation and direction of Kerala. Till now, you have seen only two parties in Kerala, LDF and UDF. However, there is a third party. It is the party of development and good governance. It is the party of BJP. The people of the state have faith in BJP," Modi added.
