No liquor sales on these days next month in Kerala; govt issues notice

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There will be no liquor sales in the state on the polling days and the day of counting for the local self-government elections. In the seven districts going to the first phase of polling, liquor sales will be prohibited from 6 p.m. on December 7 until the end of polling on the 9th. The ban will be in effect in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and Ernakulam districts.

For the areas voting in the second phase, liquor sales will be banned from 6 p.m. on the 9th until the end of polling on the 11th. This restriction will apply in Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. The entire state will observe a dry day on December 13, the day of counting.
