THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: E-Health system has been set up in 800 health institutions in Kerala. Minister Veena George informed that e-Health has been implemented in 18 places including medical colleges and affiliated institutions, 33 district and general hospitals, 88 taluk hospitals, 48 community health centres, 512 family health centres, 79 urban family health centres, 14 speciality hospitals, three public health labs and five other health centres.

Digital payment system, online OP ticket, MeHealth app and Scan & Book systems were set up recently. So far, more than 2.62 crore people have registered permanently for UHID through e-Health. More than 8.88 crore people have sought treatment through temporary registration and 15.27 lakh people sought treatment after getting admitted.

Patients can get OP tickets earlier through e-Health without standing in queues. If they want to seek treatment again, they can get a token in advance from the hospital itself. Advance tokens can also be obtained through the e-Health portal and the MeHealth app. This can reduce waiting times. The patient's treatment details, lab results, and prescription can be obtained on the portal.
