Non-bailable case should be filed against A Raja, CPM is a party that will not hesitate to do anything to retain power: K Sudhakaran

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president K Sudhakaran MP has said that the Election Commission should prepare a directive to the DGP to charge A Raja with non-bailable charges. He also alleged that the CPM had given all the connivance to Raja for contesting in Devikulam by presenting forged documents.

A criminal case should be filed against all those who are involved in this. Raja got help from the government to get a fake caste certificate. CPM members are a group that does not hesitate to take any crooked means to retain power. Even the court was convinced that A Raja had falsified even his family register. But the CPM is still standing firm as a rock for the man who betrayed the trust of the electorate for mere political gain. CPM and Raja have not even shown the decency to confess their crime and apologize to the voters.

Forgery and falsification of documents are offenses punishable by imprisonment for more than seven years under the Indian Penal Code. Yet, to protect A Raja by exploiting the loophole in the law without taking action against him is a challenge to the justice system. Sudhakaran also said that the Election Commission should take the necessary steps for Devikulam by-election. CPM is deceiving the backward categories by fully supporting Raja who subverted the principles of reservation. Reserved constituencies are present so that Scheduled Castes can strengthen their representation in the Legislative Assembly. It was in a reserved constituency like that in which the CPM made a person, who did not fall under that category, contest in elections. Sudhakaran said that this is a reflection of CPM's anti-Dalit attitude.
