Officer of Tavanur central jail found hanging in quarters

MALAPPURAM: An officer of the Tavanur Central Jail was found hanging. He has been identified as assistant prison officer S Barshath (29) of Chittur in Palakkad. He was found hanging in rented quarters near the jail.


He was transferred to Tavanur Central Jail seven months ago. He was on day duty on Thursday. After this, he went to his quarters. He was found hanging in the morning. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
