PALAKKAD: A policeman was found dead on the verandah of a shop. The dead is Arjun (36), an officer of Palakkad Pattambi traffic police. Arjun was found dead in front of a private building in Shoranur Thursday morning. He is a native of Kodunthirapully in Palakkad. He was staying at the Shoranur Paruthipra police quarters. A police team led by Shoranur circle inspector V Ravikumar reached the spot and started further proceedings.
A civil police officer, who had actively participated and sung in the Onam celebrations at the police station the other day, collapsed and died within hours of reaching home. He has been identified as Satish Chandran (42) of Pathinarilchira, Karapuzha, working at Kottayam East Station. Friends said that he was an active participant in the Onam celebrations held on Tuesday. He sang the song 'Madhurikkum Ormakale'. He returned to the police quarters in Muttambalam at around 9.30 pm. He collapsed at around 10.45 pm. He was taken to the hospital but his life could not be saved. Satish Chandran arrived at Kottayam East Station a year ago. His body was kept at Gandhinagar and East stations for public viewing. He leaves behind his wife Sabitha and children Abhinav, Abhinand and Aswanth.
