One-year-old baby dies after swallowing stones while playing at home

MALAPPURAM: A one-year-old boy who accidentally swallowed stones and mud while playing in his courtyard, has died. The dead is Aslam, son of Maharoof of Changaramkulam Pallikkara Thekkummuri. The incident happened last evening. The boy, who was playing outside the house, swallowed stones and mud. After he experienced difficulty in breathing, his parents tried to take the stone from his mouth.

However, a small stone got stuck deep in his throat and it could not be removed. The boy was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but his life could not be saved. He died before reaching the hospital. The entire Pallikkara village is in grief over the unexpected demise of the boy. The body will be handed over to his relatives after the postmortem.
