People in four districts asked to be vigilant in coming days, weather to change, alert issued

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a possibility of extremely heavy rain in the state till Monday. Strong winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph in isolated places during these days have been predicted. Therefore, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has asked people to be vigilant. Red and orange alerts have also been issued in various districts.


Red alert has been issued in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod tomorrow. Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad are on orange alert and yellow alert in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam.


Fishing has been banned along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep till July 21st. The National Oceanographic Research Centre has said that there is a possibility of high waves of 3.0 to 3.1 meters and sea attacks along the Kanyakumari coast until 8.30 pm tonight.
