Picture of Potty and Pinarayi together; Senior Congress leader in custody, case for provoking riots

KOZHIKODE: The police have taken into custody KPCC political affairs committee member and senior Congress leader in the district N Subramanian, in the case of sharing an AI-generated picture of Unnikrishnan Potty, the main accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan together on social media. He was summoned for questioning earlier but did not appear. Following this, the Chevayur police took him into custody. The police had registered a suo motu case against Subramanian for provoking riots. Subramanian, who was taken into custody from his home, was taken to the hospital for uneasiness.

Subramanian said the one he shared is not an AI picture. He said that the picture he shared is real and that it was taken from a video released by the chief minister's Office. Subramanian clarified that an attempt is being made to counter the opposition's activities and that the post will not be withdrawn and will face the legal action against him. Subramanian said that he does not know whether the police will arrest him and if arrested, will happily go to the jail.

The picture of the two together was posted with the caption, ‘What could be the reason for such a deep relationship between Pinarayi Vijayan and Unnikrishnan Potty?’ After the picture was released, CPM leaders said that it was made by AI. A video of the chief minister and Unnikrishnan Potty together at an official function was released the other day. Police officers and others were seen in the video.
