
KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his wife Kamala have total deposits of over Rs 1 crore. Pinarayi Vijayan has deposits worth Rs 43.35 lakh in his name, while Kamala has Rs 60.58 lakh. These asset details were submitted in the affidavit accompanying his nomination papers for the Dharmadam Assembly constituency. The affidavit also states that Vijayan owns 78 cents of land, while his wife owns 17.5 cents of land in Onchiyam.
The affidavit also states that neither of them has any liabilities. It also mentions that three criminal cases are registered in the name of Pinarayi Vijayan, but he has not been convicted in any of them.
Pinarayi Vijayan, who is contesting as the LDF candidate from the Dharmadom constituency, submitted his nomination papers on Thursday morning. The Chief Minister reached the Thalassery District Registrar's Office and handed over the nomination papers to District Registrar Sachin Krishna. Several leaders accompanied him during the submission, including CPM Kannur district secretary K K Ragesh, state committee member P Sasi, senior leader E P Jayarajan and Assembly Speaker A N Shamseer.
