Plus One Admissions: 14 additional batches will be allotted to Malappuram, says Minister V Sivankutty

KOZHIKODE: Education Minister V Sivankutty announced that 14 additional batches will be allotted to Malappuram for Plus One admissions. The seats lying vacant in other districts will be given to Malappuram. The minister added that creating an unnecessary controversy that Malappuram is being neglected.

Total number of applicants for Plus One admission is 4,59,330. The number of government and aided seats is 3,70,590. Total seats for VHSE are 33,030. Unaided seats are 54,585. The total number of seats is 4,58,205. 1,125 seats are less than the number of applicants.

The total number of applicants in Malappuram is 80,922. There are 55,590 government and aided seats. Unaided seats are 11,286 and 2820 seats for vocational higher secondary. If no one is joining in unaided then the number of seats required is 22,512. If unaided is also considered then require 11,226 seats.

In addition to the increase in marginal seat, 81 provisional batches have been included in the main phase allotment itself. Besides this, 14 batches which do not have enough students will be shifted to Malappuram after the first allotment. Additional batches will be allotted as necessary after checking the status of main stage allotment to ensure admission to all students who have passed SSLC this year.

Directions have been given to the director of education to examine whether more seats are lying vacant in the aided sector. Has directed to submit the report immediately. Temporary batch will be allotted in aided sector. A permanent solution will be taken by next year. The minister added that will do everything possible to solve the seat problem in the northern districts.
