THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty warned that the government would voluntarily take action against the Fort school reopening day incident if for the indifferent attitude from school management. The minister also asked the Education Director to submit a report.

Vlogger Mukesh M Nair, an accused in a POCSO case, participated in an event held as part of the reopening day ceremony at Fort High School in Thiruvananthapuram. After the incident became controversial, the organizers of the event apologized, saying that they were unaware of the charges against Mukesh. The education minister said that the school management decided to respond only after the government warned of strong punitive action.

The headmaster of the school admitted to not knowing the charges levelled against Mukesh Nair and apologised. The organizers of the event wrote a letter to the school authorities, openly admitting the lapse. The organizers expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the school and the headmaster.
