
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The number of profitable public sector undertakings under the industries department has increased to 27. It was 11 in the last financial year. The total turnover has reached Rs 2,440.14 crore. This was stated in the half-yearly review report of public sector undertakings held in the presence of the industries minister, P Rajeev. Meanwhile, the operating profit has increased to Rs 27.30 crore.
Among the 48 public sector undertakings, Chavara KMML made the highest operating profit of Rs 4,548.64 lakh. In October alone, it made Rs 1461.24 lakh. Keltron, which suffered a loss during the last financial year, made a profit of Rs 1,268.20 lakh, and Keltron ECL made an operating profit of Rs 1,184.59 lakh. TCC, Kerala Electrical and Allied Engineering Company, Coir Corporation, KSIE, Telk, SIFL, Mineral Development Corporation, KCCPL, Coirfed, Silk, Artisans Development Corporation, FIT, Malappuram Cooperative Spinning Mill, K. Karunakaran Memorial Cooperative Spinning Mill, Foam Mattings, Alleppey Cooperative Spinning Mill, Small Industries Development Corp, Priyadarshini Cooperative Spinning Mill, Trivandrum Spinning Mill, and Coir Machinery Manufacturing Company are currently profitable.
Kerala Automobiles Limited entered the electric scooter market with a joint venture. KSDP opened a marketing centre to ensure quality medicines.
