Puthupally poll campaign heats up; Chandy Oommen, Lijin Lal to file nominations today

KOTTAYAM: UDF candidate Chandy Oommen and NDA candidate Lijin Lal will file their nominations today in Puthupally, where the by-election campaign is heating up. The two will file their papers at Pampady Block Panchayat which is the office of deputy returning officer. Chandy Oommen will be accompanied by senior leaders including the opposition leader from Pampady UDF election committee office.

NDA candidate Lijin Lal will arrive in an open jeep from Pampady to Pallickathodu. BJP state chief K Surendran, Union Minister V Muraleedharan and many others will accompany Lijin Lal.

LDF candidate Jaick C Thomas filed his nominations the other day. M V Govindan, E P Jayarajan and many others accompanied Jaick to file his nominations in front of Kottayam RDO. Jaick submitted three sets of papers. Russell, CPI district secretary V B Binu, Kerala Congress District President Lopez Mathew accompanied the candidate. The DyFI district committee handed over the deposit amount to Jaick.
