Rahul Mamkootathil brought for medical examination; protests in Pathanamthitta GH

PATHANAMTHITTA: Rahul Mamkootathil MLA arrested in the third rape case was brought for medical examination from the A R Camp. He was brought to Pathanamthitta General Hospital. He ws brought out from the camp after grilling him for six and a half hours.

Major protests are being staged by the DYFI and Yuva Morcha in the premises of the hospital. He was taken inside the hospital after forcibly removing the protestors from the place.

Rahul was arrested Sunday early morning in a rape case against him. He was taken into custody from Palakkad and brought to Pathanamthitta A R Camp and then his arrest was registered. The woman in her complaint said that she was abused brutally.

With the new complaint, there are three rape cases against Rahul. The complaint said that he forced her to buy a flat for him in Palakkad and that he exploited her financially. Rahul raped the woman in Thiruvalla. Rahul was taken into custody in a decisive move by the police in the morning. Rahul was questioned by a team led by SP G Poonguzhali.

The investigation team has seized two of his phones. The charges include rape and intimidation. The investigation team will request the court not to grant him bail as they have to collect evidence.
