PALAKKAD: Rahul Mamkootathil MLA facing sexual allegations has landed in his constituency Palakkad. This is the first time the MLA is visiting the constituency after the issue sparked a row. The police have arranged heavy security at the MLA's office as protests are likely to flare up.

Rahul is visiting Palakkad after 38 days. It is reported that Rahul arrived after informing all local Congress leaders. He left his house in Adoor early this morning. He went straight to the house of a local Congress leader, who had passed away in Palakkad. Rahul will meet the media soon.

The local body elections are approaching. In this situation, many leaders have asked Rahul to be active in the constituency. Opposition leader V D Satheesan has also not opposed Rahul from visiting his constituency.

Many leaders say that despite many allegations, not a single woman has filed a complaint and therefore Rahul does not need to stay away. However, there was criticism within the party against Rahul for not denying the allegations.

The BJP and DYFI had earlier responded that they would stop Rahul from reaching Palakkad. It was earlier stated that there would be protests even if he reached the MLA office.
