THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of moderate rainfall in all 13 districts of Kerala in the next 3 hours. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph at isolated places in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.
IMD has issued a warning that there is a possibility of light rain in isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram district and that there is a possibility of rain in Kerala for the next five days. Isolated heavy rain is predicted on July 6, 9 and 10. A low-pressure area has formed over the Gangetic West Bengal.
This low pressure area is likely to move towards Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh region in the next 2-3 days. An offshore trough is located from the south Gujarat coast to the south Karnataka coast. Strong winds with speeds reaching 40 to 50 kmph are likely at isolated places in Kerala from the 6th to the 8th.
IMD has informed that there is no restriction on fishing off the Kerala-Lakshadweep coasts today (06/07/2025); fishing should not be allowed off the Karnataka coast from 06/07/2025 to 09/07/2025.
