THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A rank holder collapsed during an indefinite strike by female civil police officer rank holders in front of the secretariat on Thursday. The woman was taken to the General Hospital in Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala's vehicle after the ambulance got caught in a traffic snarl. Haneena, a native of Thrissur, collapsed in the incident that took place at noon on Thursday.

The candidates had arrived in the morning and protested. Chennithala visited the protest site soon after, and it was Haneena who explained the situation to him. Afterwards, Haneena collapsed while Chennithala was speaking to the media. The ambulance was called to the site, but the peak traffic hour delayed the arrival. Waiting no time, Chennithala gave his car to rush Haneena to the hospital.

Later, Chennithala and his wife Anitha returned in a Congress worker's vehicle. Chennithala asked the government to show humanity to the women CPO candidates. The rank list will expire next week. The age limit of many people will also expire. It was also requested that the maximum number of people on the list should be appointed as per the vacancies.
