THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Registrar Dr K S Anil Kumar arrived at the university in his official vehicle after rejecting the order of the vice chancellor. Vice chancellor Dr Mohanan Kunnummal had barred Anil Kumar from using his official car. He had also directed to shift the official vehicle in the university's garage. The VC instructed the security officer to get the keys of the car from the driver and hand it over to Mini Dejo Kappen, who has been given additional charge of registrar. However, Anil Kumar explained that he does not own a vehicle.

The syndicate pointed that the VC does not have the authority to stop the registrar from using his official vehicle. The Left members have also made it clear by pointing to the rules that the syndicate has the authority to control any property in the university.

Registrar Dr KS Anil Kumar is under suspension after he denied permission for a program of the Governor at the Senate Hall over the Bharat Mata picture controversy. The registrar was in the office yesterday, ignoring the VC's instructions not to enter the office.

The VC may visit the university on Thursday to take a decision on the pending applications for degree certificates. The Governor has directed the DGP to provide adequate police security in the wake of the SFI's statement to block him. The VC granted permission for the seminar of the demography department at the Karyavattom campus yesterday. The file for permission was sent to the VC directly by the head of the department.
