Remand prisoner found dead in jail; relatives allege mystery in death

KASARAGOD: A remand prisoner was found dead in the jail. He was found dead Wednesday morning at the special sub jail in Kasaragod. The dead is Mubasheer. The jail authorities took him to the hospital but he was declared dead.

Mubasheer was an accused in a POCSO case registered in 2016. He fled to the Gulf when the case was registered. He was arrested when he touched the state. However, the police have not confirmed it. He arrived two months ago. He was arrested 20 days ago when he reached the police station in connection with another case. He was later remanded.

His relatives alleged mystery in his death. They have demanded an investigation. The police have decided to conduct a detailed investigation. No beat marks were found on his body. It has to be examined whether he had any other illness.
