KOCHI: The court has rejected the bail plea of former Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The Kollam Vigilance Court denied bail to Padmakumar in the door frame case. Padmakumar is also an accused in the Dwarapalaka case and is presently remanded in this case. The court had earlier rejected the bail pleas of Murari Babu and N Vasu, the other accused in the case.

Padmakumar in his bail plea mentioned that all the members of the board were collectively responsible for handing over the door frames to Unnikrishnan Potty. Wrote copper in the minutes with the knowledge of everyone. In his plea, Padmakumar had also cited his objection in only making him the culprit after excluding others. Padmakumar was arrested on November 20 in the door frame case.

Meanwhile, Unnikrishnan Potty, the first accused in the case, has filed a bail plea in the Kollam Vigilance Court. The court will consider his plea on December 18. The verdict on the bail plea of former Sabarimala executive officer D Sudheesh Kumar, the fifth accused in the door frame case and the third accused in the case of stealing gold from the Dwarapalaka idols, will be delivered on December 15. The plea filed in the high court against the rejection of the bail plea of former commissioner and president N Vasu by the vigilance court will be considered on December 15.
