Sabarimala gold theft; Discrepancies in actor Jayaram’s explanation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is information that there is a confusion in the explanation given by actor Jayaram in connection with the puja of the gold sheets in Sabarimala. Jayaram's explanation was that the puja of the door frames performed at Smart Creations and the puja of the dwarpalaka idols performed at home were on the same day. However, new information is that both the pujas were performed in different months. Visuals of Jayaram attending the two poojas had emerged.

The investigation team found that there was a theft in 2019 related to the golden door, the door frames of the Sabarimala shrine and the dwarpalaka frames. The new door was dedicated in March 2019. The door frame was made in June. The dwarpalaka sheets were dedicated in September. At the same time, visuals of the golden sheets brought to actor Jayaram's house and being worshipped were also released. In addition, visuals of Jayaram attending the puja held at Smart Creations were also released.

Jayaram said that after the puja held at Smart Creations, the frames were brought home and worshipped on the way to Sabarimala. However, the puja was held in the factory in June 2019. The puja was also held at Jayaram's house in September. These three months of delay weaken Jayaram's claims. When the puja was held at the Smart Creations factory in June, the main door frames of Sabarimala was there. However, the pictures that have now emerged of the puja being held at Jayaram's house are of the Dwarapalaka frames.

No pictures or evidence have been found yet of the main door frame being brought to Jayaram's house and puja performed. Only the visuals of the puja of the Dwarapalaka sheets held in September are being discussed now. New reports indicate that Jayaram was in contact with Unnikrishnan Potty for two months and that he was a participant in the pujas held twice. However, Jayaram is of the stand that he does not remember the exact time the puja was performed.
